The Ultimate Fighter 11| Middleweights

the-ultimate-fighter-11-cast1What’s up all you MMA FREAKS!

The Ultimate Fighter 11 has been up and down this season, with injuries, house fights, decisions in the ring. Some have been bitter sweet, but there still can be only one Ultimate Fighter.

The question that everyone is thinking about is who is going to be the “Wildcard”.

Hammortree says he deserves the wildcard spot the most, but also says Chris probably thinks that he deserves it just as much.

Kyacey also states that he deserves it.

Nick Ring suffers a painful knee injury during practice, putting his future in the Ultimate Fighter in jeopardy.

In this episodes fight…..

Joe Henle, said just because he has a MBA doesn’t mean he don’t put the same amount of effort and drive into MMA. “I want this so bad!” He said.

Joe ” Leonidas” Henle vs Seth Baczynski

Round 1

Baczynski gets Henle in a triangle after Henle took him down right away and then transitioned into guillotine choke.

They kept switching back and forth for top position not doing much damage at all.

Round 1 ends with Henle on his back trying to get Baczynski in a triangle.

Round 2

Tito tells Baczynski to push the pace.

After Baczynski to Henle down and had a kamora almost locked in Henle gets out and take his back. Tried to get a rear naked choke but wasn’t successful. and Baczynski got back on top in Henle’s guard.

Not much action until Baczynski got free and hit Henle with an uppercut on the way up, then came flying with a knee and somehow Kenle got out of the way. Dana White or someone from the crowd yelled “oh shit” because it was going to be a hard hit.

The fight was declared a draw so they went to the 3rd round.

Round 3

Right away it goes to the ground again and Baczynski lands in Henle’s guard. Chuck Liddel was yelling to not take it down to the ground.

Baczynski pretty much dominated the 3rd round by gound and pound in Henle’s guard.

Seth Baczynski defeats Joe  Henle

Kyacey Uscola got the first Ultimate Fighter 11 Wild Card bid.

Kris McCray got the second Ultimate Fighter 11 Wild Card bid.

Rich was injured in his fight, and can’t continue, so Dana White put Court McGee in his spot because his fight was so close and didn’t get to go to a 3rd round.

Henle thought he should have got a Wild Card spot and Hammortree was really disappointed to not get a second shot.

Stay tuned for next WED Wild Card Fight and a surprise visit to the house by Dana White. Could another fighter’s time be ended by injury.

Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz

ROUND 1: Grove landed a big upper cut that dropped Munoz 1:30 into the first round, but Munoz recovered and secured a single. Munoz battled back by taking Grove down, but landed himself into a guillotine, he was able to get out of it, just to get caught in another and getting saved by the bell.

ROUND 2: Munoz came out swinging for the fence and caught Grove, but while coming in tight Grove landed a big knee.
What come from behind victory for Mark Munoz….He ground and pounded Grove and it was a wrap.

Rafael Dos Anjos vs Terry Etim

  • Dos Anjos wins by an arm bar

Gustafsson vs. Davis

  • Phil Davis wins by Anaconda choke with 5 seconds to go in the first round.

Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie

Hughes said before the fight he thinks this is the fight that is going to bring the violence back out of him and the fights gonna go his way.

..and then comes rollin’ into the song “A country boy can survive”

Renzo come out swinging after he sizes Hughes up and landed a nice right, Hughes ties him up quick. Both are throwing some good low kicks.

They got boos at the end of the second round because it wan’t a very fast paced fight. Hughes was just chopping down that left leg of Gracie.

Renzo Gracie is really damaged…Hughes gives it kick and Gracie goes down every time. Hughes helped him up at one time. Hughes hits him with a few more solid leg kicks then lands a few big punches and knocks Renzo Gracie out.

  • Matt Hughes wins by TKO

Lightweight Championship- BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edger

Penn looked really focused and more ready to throwdown than ever. Edger comes out looking fast and relaxed…landing some good leg kicks and few jabs on the champ Penn. Edger had some good side to side movement going making it hard for the champ to get his jabs in.

Penn had a nice little mouse under his left eye after the first round.

Penn comes out in the second round and gets his timing down  and starts landing some solid counter strikes along with some left hooks. Edger starts mixing it up and landing some nice shots and leg kicks, but still wasn’t able to take Penn down.

Going into the championship rounds, Penn’s corner said to try to take it to the round, but he kept standing with Edger.

5th and final round…Penn looks a little winded, but edger is still moving fast and finally took Penn down with authority. Edger landed some hard shots on Penn’s face and continued to mixed it up with leg kicks…

Went to the judges….To me it looked like Edger edged that fight out..plus Penn’s face was busted up more out of the two.

…and a NEW Lightweight Champion of The World! Frankie “The Answer” Edger

  • Edger wins by unanimous decision.

The Middleweight Championship -Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs. Damien Maia

Joe Rogan calls Anderson Silva the modern day Bruce Lee. Anderson Silva kept toying with Maia, almost crawling at one point. Silva did land a big flying knee that dropped Maia, but Silva let him get back up.

Silva kept the clowning up and made Maia look like an amateur in the second round. It continued until the 5th and Maia came alive landing some big shots and finally grabbed a leg, but Silva got away.

Not a fight you would want to watch 5 rounds for the Championship. There were Boos after boos when they announced Anderson Silva was still the Middleweight Champion of The World.

  • Silva wins by unanimous decision.

He apologized for his behavior and he said he don’t know what got into him. He promised it won’t happen again.

Until next time….

Opening the episode…Kimbo Slice turns down the fight against James McSweeny.

Risking his credability as a fighter because he says he’s only at 40 percent with his knee.

He says it wouldn’t be fair to his family, his fans or anyone that wants to see him fight because he wouldn’t be able to give 100%.

“I never thought Kimbo Slice would turn down a fight, but I respect him for doing it.”

–Dana White

Matt Mitrione decided to fight and the doc cleared him, so it’s on with McSweeny. James says he’s READY!

Scott Junk gets some bad news. The doc says he torn his retina and might not ever fight again.

DIZZZAMN! Marcus “Big Baby” Jones straight lost it. The nicest guy in the house felt like he need to defend his friend Scott Junk because Junk might not have the chance to fight again. When Junk fought Matt Mitrione he accidently got a poke in the eye and it tore his retina.

That’s why the Doc said Junk might not ever fight again because there would be a chance he could go blind.

Marcus wanted to put the Beat Down on Matt and stated he just wanted to choke him, let him come to and then start pounding on him and then break his arm. So he could feel what Junk was going through.

Marcus “Big Baby” Jones is a guy that you want to be your friend.

Junk finds out that the surgery was a success and that he can fight again, but its not recommended.

After the weigh-ins James McSweeny looked like he was going to rip Matt Mitrione head off. Very intense weight-in and then McSweeny shoves Mitrione and starts yelling…they are broke up by teammates and coaches.

James McSweeny vs Matt Mitrione

-James comes out throwing the leg kicks and Matt is a little standoffish. McSweeny finally lands a good punch and I think that wakes Mitrione up. Mitrione came back with some good hard combos that I think dazed McSweeny.

-McSweeny quickly came inside and locked up with Mitrione and took him down. Mitrione trys to get an ankle lock, but McSweeny gets out and sets in a guillotine choke and Mitrione stands up leaving his neck exposed even more and McSweeny drops and sinks it in tight and Mitrione taps out.

Marcus Jones vs. Darril Schoonover

-Marcus comes out with a vicious leg kick and Darril throws a few jabs and then Marcus throws him down with extreme force. Marcus Jones just dominates Darril on the ground trying to get a kimura and keeps getting his ground and pound on. He eventually lands two big blows on the ground and knocks Darril out.

After the fight Marcus is very happy…he says he wants to do this for a long time and live his dream. He can’t believe he’s here fighting. He said, “If you seen my trying to throw a punch a year ago, you would laugh.”

Once again, Rashad and Rampage starts getting into it..like always, but nothing new.

The pranks continue…

Team Rampage once again pulls a prank. They paint Team Rashad’s locker room completly pink and put tons of pink stuffed animals in there with a disco ball. Rampage actually really likes one of the stuffed animals and won’t leave it alone.

Team Rashad just laughs about it when they walk in, but then Brenden Schaub says, “I have to warm up in this damn room before the fight!”

so when he tries to get out he can’t. He pretty much loses it because he said he is claustophobic and him and James start throwing bows for real. James eventually gets him in choke and starts yelling, “Calm down man.”

James McSweeny vs. Roy Nelson in the first Semi-Finals fight.

McSweeny says right before the commercial break…”You do not want to turn off your tv sets, you’ll want to see this one. Trust me!”

-McSweeny comes out controlling the Octagon and setting the pace. He lands some good shots on Roy’s chin and starts motioning Roy to bring and gets a little cocky. Roy throws a big right and stuns McSweeny and then takes him down. Roy gets him pinned down and starts landing big shots on McSweeny’s head and the Ref stops the fight.

It’s gonna be hard for anyone to get out from under Roy “Big Country” Nelson if he gets you down and gets on top of you.

Roy Nelson is the first Heavyweight going to the Finale on Dec 5th, 2009

AND…..ONCE AGAIN Rashad and Rampage get into it again….These two better put on a good fight for the trash talk they’ve been displaying.

It will be nice if one wins in a dominate fashion..like a straight knocked out cold ending, like the Henderson and Bisping coaches fight.

The tension is building for Rampage Jackson. He says he really needs Marcus to win, because he feels like he wins too. That would stop Rashad from having both fighters from his team in the Finals.

Rampage really looks nervous and he’s not even fighting.

Next Semi-Final fight was Marcus Jones vs. Brenden Schaub

-They both came out throwing blows and Marcus slammed Brenden. Then he got side control quick and then full mount. Marcus wasn’t really wasn’t letting his hands fly when he had the full mount and somehow Brenden got out and stood up.

-Marcus slips and takes a hit to the chin and then responds with a huge knee, that looked like it should have dazed Brenden, but it didn’t. Brenden came in and landed a huge right and knock Marcus down and gets on top and starts landing big shots that kncocks Marcus out.

Marcus says that this day is probably the last day he will fight because he don’t want to put his wife through it anymore.

Well, after the show they announce he decides to fight again…and guess who he’s fighting….yep you guessed it! Marcus “The Darkness” Jones vs Matt “Meathead” Mitrione.

WHOA!! You DO NOT want to miss this Saturday DEC 5TH. It’s going to be off the hook with really big fights and THEY ARE FREE ON SPIKE!!

Until then… Stay tuned for the Fight Card for the The Ultimate Fighter 10 | The Heavyweights Finale
